Profitraining with Gavin Law

This training draws from a blend of contemporary and urban dance techniques. Throughout the class, we use a variety of exercises to warm up and integrate the body and mind. We begin with guided improvisation, conditioning, and partner and self-bodywork to awaken awareness and proprioception while building strength, balance, and flexibility. In the second part of the class, we refine our technique through exercises and across-the-floor sequences that gradually increase in complexity. These sequences are designed to be accessible to all spatial levels, starting with basic floorwork, locomotion, and soft acrobatics, and progressing toward more challenging standing material, including grooves, footwork, turns, and jumps. To conclude, we learn a phrase of set material that emphasizes the integration of technique with musicality, dynamic shifts, spatial awareness, and moving together as a group.
